Workshop: Liu Bao and Hei Cha

Explore the darkest corner of the tea world… a kind of tea that almost never makes its way to the West although it has a long and mysterious past in China. Hei Cha is a category of fermented Chinese tea with a rich history. Different regions in China produce their own hei chas that differ from each other both in processing as well as taste and effects. As a precursor to ripe (shou) puerh, these teas carry somewhat similar characteristics to the latter, yet often have a discernible Chinese medicinal taste and are sharper in mouthfeel than shou puerh teas.

These teas help to center, relax and to soften hardened emotional states.

This workshop includes a tasting selection of rare hei cha teas.

Minimum recommended donation: 30 eur / 25 eur for GTH members and ISIC students
NB! Donations have to be paid beforehand. Payment information will be in the email you’ll recieve after registration.

Workshop: Romancing The Leaf – Wuyi Cliff Tea

Enjoy tea from the fairy-tale land where the Immortals walked! Wuyi is a mountain range in Southeast China and is considered the birthplace of oolong tea. Teas grown on the hillsides of Wuyi are called “cliff teas” due to the rocky landscape, unique growing conditions and the aftertaste of minerals particular to these oolongs. Wuyi has been an inspiration for poets and artists for centuries.

In this workshop, we dive deep into the tradition, history and the qualities of Wuyi cliff tea.

The workshop includes a tasting selection of rare Wuyi cliff teas.
